The Principal's Message

August 27, 2014

Dear Cherry Hill High School West School Community,

Happy New Year!  On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of CHHS West, I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting year. It is with much sincerity that I hope you have enjoyed a fantastic summer full of memory building experiences. I also hope that you have had an opportunity for some much needed rest and relaxation. The start of the 2014-2015 school year is upon us as the year will commence on September 3, 2014. Our custodial and maintenance team, teachers, and administrative staff have worked diligently to ready the building for the return of our students.

We are thrilled to welcome the members of the class of 2018 to HS West, and we also extend our congratulations to the class of 2014. I am proud to begin a new year as the principal of Cherry Hill High School West. For those new to HS West you will find a school with a distinctly rich tradition of excellence. At HS West one will find a caring faculty that endeavors to form connections with students by helping them to maximize their potential. One will find involved students who dedicated themselves to their studies, and invest time in making their community a better place. One will also find a diverse student body reflecting a school culture marked by academic achievement, involvement in activities, and acceptance of others.

The entire faculty and staff of High School West are dedicated to the success of each of our students. We take great pride in meeting our collective vision, which is to prepare all of our students for post-secondary life by maintaining high expectations for achievement, for character, for community, and for personal responsibility.  High School West affords all students with the opportunity to experience a sense of belonging. We offer a wide array of academic course offerings, activities, clubs, and athletic sports teams. I strongly encourage every student to find an area of interest that they will pursue while here at High School West. I thank you in advance for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you around campus!

Yours truly,
Dr. Kwame R. Morton, Sr.
